Discussion Workshop Methodological Approaches to Sustainability in the Automotive Industry and Challenges for Appropriate Regulation was held at ŠAU

A discussion workshop entitled Methodological Approaches to Sustainability in the Automotive Industry and Challenges for Appropriate Regulation was held on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, within the framework of the activities of the Škoda Auto University Research Centre.
Representatives of the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development of Charles University, the Department of Environmental Studies of Masaryk University, the Department of International Economic Relations of the Prague University of Economics and Business and the Research Centre of the Škoda Auto University met at the headquarters of the Škoda Auto University Na Karmeli in Mladá Boleslav.
The discussions aimed to identify areas of mutual interest, inspiration and possible agreement on research cooperation. As a secondary objective, the representatives assessed the prerequisites and state of knowledge of the developmental dependency theory as a methodological tool for further research into sustainability in the automotive industry.
The panellists contributed to the debate with their contributions entitled Development Dependency in Economics, An Essay on the EU and China Automotive Industry, Regional Innovation Systems and Sectoral Development Trajectories in Regions, Holistic Approach to Addressing Automotive Transformation: Policies and their Consequences, and Equitable Transformation and Greening of the Automotive Industry from a Stakeholder Perspective.
The Research Centre of the ŠAU intends to organise other similar events; some of them will be open to a broader professional audience.
