Joint Lectures with German University
ŠKODA AUTO University organized the second teaching block for the subject Innovative Trends in International Supply Chain Management from 19th until 21st February 2020.
This unique course structure was created by Ing. David Holman Ph.D. from the Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department at ŠKODA AUTO University and Prof. Dr. Thomas Liebertruth from International Business with Focus Logistics at OTH Regensburg. Both universities formed a group of 30 students (a half from ŠKODA AUTO University and a half from OTH Regensburg) composed of 11 nationalities. During the course of Innovative Trends in International Supply Chain Management, this group spent one week in Germany and one week in the Czech Republic.
The first week started at OTH Regensburg where students worked on team presentations and course projects in small multinational teams and participated in a lecture called Start-up Companies Developing Industry 4.0 Solution in Logistics. Moreover, the students had an opportunity to visit a branch of a multinational company BMW Group in Regensburg which manufactures vehicles, components and motorcycles worldwide.
The second part of the course was held in the innovative premises Innocube in Mladá Boleslav, where the Rector of ŠKODA AUTO University gave a welcoming speech for the students. As a part of the training program and teamwork tasks, students participated in a lecture in the area of sustainability held by a consultant from a Vair Venture Company. Students also took part in an excursion that was focused on Industry 4.0 Solutions implemented in the Logistics department at the ŠKODA AUTO plant in Mladá Boleslav.
