On January 15, 2025, Škoda Auto University and Silesian University of Technology Gliwice signed a cooperation agreement focusing on research as well as the education of students and staff. The agreement was signed by the rector of ŠAVŠ, Prof. Ing. Ondřej Krejcar, and the rector of Silesian University of Technology Gliwice, Prof. Dr. Hab. Ing. Sebastian Werle.
The universities had previously collaborated through joint participation in international conferences. The cooperation is now being expanded to include the preparation of joint research projects and mutual education for staff and students in the field of the automotive industry.
Prof. Ing. Radim Lenort, Ph.D., ALog., ING-PEAD IGIP, Head of the Department of Production Management, Logistics, and Quality at Škoda Auto University, who was instrumental in realizing the agreement between the two institutions, commented on the partnership: "We are committed to advancing technical education, and we therefore hope for fruitful cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology. We believe that together we can apply for international projects, including those under the Horizon Europe program."
