Rectors and other representatives of Czech universities laid flowers at the monument of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk on Hradčanské Square in Prague on October 28th, commemorating the 106th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia.
Škoda Auto University was represented at this solemn event by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality Management, Mgr. Petr Šulc, who emphasized the significance of this important day: “October 28, 1918, is a fundamental milestone in our history. It marks the beginning of modern Czech statehood and the democratic organization of our society. This process is inseparably connected with the figure of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, who was and remains a symbol of the values of democracy, humanism, and education. These are the values on which our society rests today, values whose preservation is far from guaranteed. This is precisely why we find it important to continually remember October 28, 1918, and the person of the first Czechoslovak president.”
