Summer School 2024 at ŠAVŠ – Sustainable transportation

The summer school was held at the Škoda Auto College from 19 to 30 August 2024. Students attended classes at the premises of the ŠAVŠ, in the technical laboratories of the Na Hejdovce school and at Škoda Auto a.s.

In the classroom, students took the Business Communication Competences course with Ioana Kocúrová-Giurgiu, member of the Department of Language Training and Intercultural Competences, and the Sustainable Vehicle Design and Supply Chain Management course with Tomáš Malčic, member of the Department of Production, Logistics and Quality Management.

In the course Sustainable Vehicle Design and Supply Chain Management, led by members of the Department of Production, Logistics and Quality Management in cooperation with the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the German University OTH Regensburg, the summer school students completed a wide variety of activities. These consisted mainly of a series of technical lectures and workshops, which were supplemented by excursions to various plants of Škoda Auto a.s. The content and structure of the lectures and workshops corresponded to the thematic areas of the course.

    Sustainable Procurement in Škoda Auto - Pavla Kozderková, Škoda Auto a.s.
    Environmental Friendly Solutions in Transport Systém - Prof. Marcin Staniek, Silesian University of Technology

    Analyzing sustainability reports of two companies

Excursions:

  • Programme in the Lean Centre (training, escape game)
    Škoda Auto battery assembly line visit
    Škoda Auto foundry and quality laboratories visit

A cultural programme with a welcome dinner, a visit to Škoda Auto a.s., the Lean Centre, the Škoda Museum, a tour of the nearby Svijany brewery, a trip to Kutná Hora and the spa town of Poděbrady were also prepared for the participants.
